June 2021:

[1]   Additional Streetlighting

The Council has agreed to meet a cost of £10,000 for the provision of additional lighting at the end of Mill Street on the B5106


[2] Skip Services

The Community Council has agreed to meet the cost of a skip on the 30th June at the far end car park on Station Road and on the grassed triangle at Pentre Du on the 20th July. The skip will arrive at approx 9.00 am and leave between 1.00 and 3.00 pm or earlier if the skip is full.

[3] Proposed footbridge upstream from Pont-y-Pair.

The Council is to meet with CADW to discuss the feasibility of a footbridge to ease congestion on the old bridge.

[4] Miners Bridge

The new bridge is scheduled to be completed in September 2021


[5] New Picnic Area Cae Llan

An improved picnic area has been created to include disabled access etc.


[6]  Footpath Cae Llan

The footpath at the field has been widened to help with social distancing and also raised to prevent further flooding. The Council has also arranged the area alongside to be reseeded.


[7] Sappers Bridge.

Conwy County Borough Council  is to be approached to undertake much needed maintenance work on the bridge.  The Community Council has already met the cost of approx £2,000.00 to provide anti slip measures on the bridge decking


[8] Car y Llan

Volunteers are required to drive the community car. Duties include taking patients for doctor’s appointments, collecting prescriptions etc. For further information please contact, Annie Mills, Car Scheme Manager 01492523587


[9] Betws-y-Coed Fire Service

There are vacancies for 6 people male/female with the local fire service. The station urgently needs to increase its manpower levels. For further information please contact North Wales Fire Service 01745535254


[10] Cerificate of Service

The Council has been given a certificate presented to J Roberts 10 Gethin Terrace, on his return from the first world War. The certificate passed on to the Council was presented by the Betws –y-Coed Peace Celebration Committee dated 19th July 1919. The certificate will be put on display in the Memorial Room at the hall.
