The Betws y Coed pantomime have been performing for the last few years bringing family fun and laughter to the local community and raising money for local charity. This year due to the Covid restrictions they are unable to perform but the cast and back stage crew still wished to raise money for charity. During the year one of the younger members of the cast from Llanrwst was diagnosed with leukaemia and has been treated at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. He was due to play Michael Darling in this year’s production of Peter Pan and his brother was cast as one of the Lost Boys. The boys and their parents wanted to raise money for the Alder Hey charity and the associated residence which provides accommodation for the families of the children being treated in the hospital. The pantomime group was keen to support the cause and resolved to set themselves the challenge of travelling collectively 100 miles which is the distance from Neverland to the Conwy Valley. Some will be swimming, walking, cycling or flying.
